Son of Edward Vaughan and Mary Vaughan nee Moriarty of Mackenzie Street, Lutwyche, QLD formerly of Kiama, NSW. Brother of Francis Martin Vaughan who returned to Australia on 4 August 1919 having served with the 9th Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 17 March 1919 aboard HT Plassy disembarking on 30 April 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane.
