William Jesse Claridge was a service person in World War One and World War Two. He was born on the 4th of September 1982 in Tarnagulla, Victoria but later moved to South Australia and lived in Tea Tree Gully.

William Jesse Claridge had dark hair and grey eyes and was part of the Church of England (C of E). Claridge was married to his wife Anne Claridge who was the next of Kin, they got married on the 2nd of June 1915.

 Before Claridge joined the war he had two different occupations, he was a cellarman and a labourer. Claridge was enlisted for World War one in Adelaide, South Australia on the 3rd of May 1915 while he was 22 years of age. His unit was 2nd (SA) Battalion VDC, and the unit’s name was 9th Light Horse Regiment, 9th Reinforcement.

He embarked for World War One fon board the HMAT A15 star of England on the 21st of September 1915, with the rank of private. After World War One Claridge returned safely back to Adelaide, South Australia on the 2nd of January 1919.

On the 10th of April 1942. William Jesse Claridge enlisted for World War two once again at Adelaide, South Australia. Claridge was 49 at the time. However, during World War two, Claridge was badly wounded in battle, therefore he was discharged on the 7th of July 1943.
