Son of Thomas Foster and Annie Beatrice Foster nee Upton of 31 Park Road, Mount Lawley, WA formerly of Wallan Victoria

Marital status at the time of enlistment was given as Widower. During 1916c Norman married Olive F. Syred in Perth, WA. Olive died during 1916.

Commenced return to Australia on 15 February 1918

In 1919 Norman married Eva J. Foster in Perth
