Biography

"THE LATE PRIVATE HORACE CLAUDE HURRELL.

Mrs. G. C. Hurrell, of Exmouth-road, Exeter, has been notified of the death of her eldest son, Horace, who was killed in action in France on July 23. He enlisted in January, 1915, and left for the front. He returned on account of sickness, and left again later. Prior to enlisting he was employed at the Adelaide Milling Company, Port Adelaide, as driver. His father is also on active service abroad. His willing disposition won the admiration of a large circle of friends." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 16 Sep 1916 (nla.gov.au)
