Address at the time of enlistment was given as 'Keynel', Baltic Street, Newtown, NSW.
Son of Patrick Quailey and Bridget Quailey of Conway Street, Lismore, NSW.
Brother of Ernest Quailey who to Australia on 5 May 1919 having served with the 5th Pioneer Battalion; Thomas Quailey who died of wounds on 11 August 1918 while serving with the 49th Battalion and was buried Fouilloy Communal Cemetery, Row C, Grave 8; George David Quailey who was killed in action on 7 June 1917 while serving with the 49th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on Panel 29 of th eMenin Gate Memorial, Ypres.
Commenced return to Australia on 20 November 1918 aboard HT Suevic disembarking on 6 January 1919.
