"...3953 Private Herbert Walter Francis. A labourer of Warra, Qld, Francis enlisted on 29 October 1915. He embarked from Brisbane on board HMAT Wandilla (A62) with the 9th Reinforcements of the 25th Battalion on 31 January 1916 and joined the 31st Battalion on 9 October 1916. Pte Francis died of wounds on 28 October 1916, aged 21, and is buried at the A.I.F. Burial Ground, Grass Lane, Flers, France." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
