SACRIFICE AT POZIERES
Fighting at Pozieres Private John Green son of Mrs. G Cartwright, of
Melville Street, Hawthorn and the late Mr. G. Green, of Tristan da Cunka, and a stepson of Captain G Cartwright, was killed. Prior to go
ing to France he served in Egypt and Gallipoli. Private Green was a great grand-son of the late Mr. P.W. Green, former Governor of Tristan da Cunka, a brother of Private W Green, who is still on active service
in France, and a step-brother of Private C.A. Cartwrifht, who served
in Gallipoli and Egypt.
