Son of Mary and Frederick CRANNIS of Cumnock, NSW

It was officially reported by the military authorities that Private Roy Crannis was killed in action on June 7th while fighting in France. Deceased, who was about 20 years of age was a son of Private.  F. Crannis, and was highly respected in the Cumnock district from which centre he enlisted in January of 1916 and went into action in November of the same year. The deceased's father (Private F. Crannis) who also enlisted is being returned as unfit for further military service, is expected to arrive in Cumnock in a few days.
