Biography contributed by Geoffrey Gillon

Next of kin Brother, Charles Fry, Inverleigh, Victoria
Enlistment date 29 June 1916 Private 22nd Battalion, 18th Reinforcement

Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A20 Hororata on 23 November 1916-he was then apparently 41.

He is honoured at Panel 3 on the Brixham War Memorial in Devon. He was apparently born in Brixham but this information conflicts with the records published by the NAA, CWGC and the AIF Project. Other Australian Great War Casualties remembered on the Brixham war memorial include 3237 Lance Corporal William Henry Srodzuski Pearce of the 4th Battalion, the Australian Machine Gun Corps and 6030 Private William John Ackrall of the 17th Bn., Australian Infantry, A.I.F.
