PRIVATE CASHMAN.
Mr. and Mrs. Cashman, of Carmsley Fairlight-street, Five Dock have been advised by the Defence authorities that their son, Frederick A. Cashman, who is attached to the First Expeditionary Force is now ill in Malta Hospital. Private Cashman is 20 years of age. He was educated at St. Joseph's College Hunter's Hill and was lieutenant in charge of the boys at school there. He was a member of the Coronation Contingent that visited England in 1911 and while there was presented by Lord Roberts with a bookcase containing an autograph photograph of the General and about 20 choice books, two of which were written by Lord Roberts himself. When Cashman enlisted he was following agricultural pursuits.
