Thomas Sidney William LUSTY was born in 1892 in North Sydney, NSW
His parents were Thomas LUSTY and Caroline DAVIS
He enlisted on 6th December, 1915 with the Australian Army - he was with the 35th Battalion, B Company - Unit embarked from Sydney on board HMAT Benalla on 1st May, 1916
Thomas was Killed in Action in the Field in Belgium on 17th October, 1917 - no known grave - he is honoured on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial and the Australian War Memorial
He was posthumously awarded the Military Medal on 1st February, 1918 and also received the British War Medal & the Victory Medal
His brother 1663 Pte. Herbert Raymond LUSTY (/explore/people/230683) was also Killed in Action on April, 15th 1917 - he is remembered in the Martins Creek Public School Peace Memorial Garden
