Joseph William Collins
my name is valerie Amelia Jones nee Collins......
He was my dad, he married my mother Florence Ruth Hale... they had nine children. moved to Whyalla from Cowell in 1940, so as my brothers could get work at the BHP....Dad also worked at the BHP.
My dad was a very hard man but now I'm older I realise the war takes away so much ..... He was never the man he was before he left for the war......
He loved us all very much in his own way........and I know I loved him...
why don't we understand our parents when we are young......there is so much I wished I had done.......talked to him more.....
