BERRY.—In loving memory of Lance-corporal Charles Frederick Berry, killed in action, in France, August 5th, 1916.
Aged 22 years.
With us his memory ever lives,
He fought a noble fight.
(Inserted by his loving Sister and Brother-in-law, G. and G. Morris).
BERRY.—Lance-corporal Charles Frederick Berry, age 22 years, son of Mr. H. A. Berry, Rockhampton, killed in action in France, 5th August, 1916.
For Britain's home and freedom,
And to right a dreadful wrong,
He chose the path of duty,
And joined the khaki throng.
Although we fain would have kept him,
We could not spoil his chance
To show his grit, he did his best,
And fell somewhere in France.
(Inserted by his loving father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Berry, and brother E. A. Berry).
