Daughter of Arthur William Hayes and Agnes J. Hayes of North Steyne Street, Manly
Prior to enlisting she had worked in the Liverpool Field Hospital and the the Australian General Hospital, Randwick, NSW
Commenced return to Australia on 6 February 1919 aboard HT Lancshire disembarking on 24 March 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney

In 1933 Agnes was living in Thorneligh, NSW
