COLIN MUNRO EDWARDS, the son of Mr. William James Edwards, late Chief Inspector of the Bank of New South Wales, and Mrs. Jeanie Edwards, was born at Waverley, near Sydney, on 5th March, 1898. He received his education at the Sydney Grammar School.
Colin Edwards enlisted on 29th October, 191 7, in the 55th Battalion of the A.I.F. He served in France and Belgium, and passed an examination in the Officers' School in England for a lieutenancy. He could not, however, get a commission until after three months' active service, and the Armistice intervened before the three months were up.
