Distinguished Conduct Medal
'For gallantry and initiative at Semakh on 15 September 1918. He was acting as troop leader when a great part of the troop became casualties. He, under heavy fire, collected all the available men and led them behind some buildings. He then dismounted for action and attacked the enemy, succeeding in killing a good number, and capturing the remainder. He displayed splendid courage and dash, and set a fine example to his men.'
