Estelle Armstrong went to live in New Zealand and married Edwin Allen Payton as his second wife in 1936. Estelle died in 1973 and Edwin died in 1974. 

Born on 10 Dec 1892 at Colac, Victoria, Estelle was the daughter of Charles Walter ARMSTRONG and Annie Louise (nee PHILLIPS) of Crane Street, Longreach, Qld.

Prior to enlistment she was a nurse at the St. Vincent's Hospital

Estelle embarked on 31 Aug 1917 from Sydney aboard the HMAT Wiltshire, and saw service in Egypt. She returned to Australia on 26 Dec 1919 aboard HMAT Marathon, and her appointment was terminated on 05 Apr 1920.
