Son of James Quinlivan and Catherine Emma Quinlivan nee Clark of Roma, QLD. Brother of George Quinlivan who returned to Australia on 5 February 1918 having served with the 41st Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 23 October 1918 aboard HT Port Lyttleton disembarking on 25 December 1918 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
