Military Medal
'On 26.9.17 this man was on duty with other bearers at HALFWAY HOUSE. Shelling was at the time very heavy when some casualties occurred about 200 yards from the medical dugout. Without hesitation with Private Amott this man picked up a stretcher and went to the assistance of the wounded man and helped to bring him in. This man's work as a stretcher bearer has been both courageous and consistently good.'
