Military Cross
'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an attack on the Hindenburg line north of Bellicourt on 30th September 1918. As battalion intelligence officer he was selected to direct the battalion to the assembly position. His skilful leadership and total disregard for personal danger under fire enabled him to accomplish this in time for the attack.'
