Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Eric Lyell Wright was one of two sons of William and Alfhild Wright, of Corowa, New South Wales. The boys had been born in Tasmania. At some stage, probably about 10 years prior to the Great War, the family moved to Corowa NSW.
His older brother, 2240 Pte. Herbert Walter John Wright 23rd Battalion was killed in action on 20 March 1917, aged 20.
Eric enlisted just prior to his 18th birthday. He died of pneumonia within a few days of reporting sick in France in early 1918. He was only 19 years of age.
