"Private Louis Meledine whose death is reported enlisted at Rockhampton. He was a French Canadian, about thirty-two years of age, and a single man. He was at one time employed as a miner at Mount Chalmers; but on the cessation of operations there he went to Mount Morgan. He was a member of the Mount Morgan Scottish Association. He had seen service in the British Navy. He resided in Rockhampton at 222 Bolsover street. He gave as his next in kin Mr. Jane James, Baree.
