Son of Allan and Jessie McDONALD
Word has been received by Mr A. McDonald, of Rocky Lead, that her son, Lance-Corporal A. Mc-Donald, who was reported missing on 13th October, last, was killed in action. The deceased soldier, who had attained his 28th year three days before his death, was born in Creswick and educated in the North Creswick and Rocky Lead
schools. He enlisted at Mathaura on 12th February, just entered the training ramp at Bendigo, and was from there transferred to Campbellfield, and sailed for the Front on 20th June, 1916. Before
enlisting he was for five years man aging a large sheep and cattle station for Mr Whinfield. The deceased was a fine stalwart and manly type of an Australian. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents and family.
