Son of James Allan Veysey and Catherine Veysey nee Smith of Warragul, Gippsland, Victoria.
Brother of Ernest Harold Veysey who returned to Australia on 31 October 1917 having served with the 39th Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia 9 March 1919 aboard HT Kashmir disembarking 30 April 1919
