Military Medal
'For gallantry in cutting the enemy wire entanglements under Machine Gun fire during the raid of June 29th, and also for devition to duty as Stretcher Bearers in bringing 3 men back into our trenches across No Man's Land under a barrage of shrapnel fire.' Another Mooroopna volunteer has been killed in action in Farnce. Last week the news came to hand of the death of Private G.E. Robbins, son of Mr and Mrs H. Robbins, of Mooroopna. Deceased was awarded the military medal for gallantry in the field during the month of July. Deceased was 21 years of age, and previous to enlisting was employed at Furphy's foundry, Shepparton.
