Mr Edward Lawrence Bemi
Mr. Edward Lawrence Beml, a well. known member of the Ipswich sub branch of the R.S.S.I.L.A., passed away at the convalescent home at Corinda on Tuesday morning. He was a native of this city, being born on February, 1897. When only a boy. he lived in the Aramac district for a short time, but the most of his life was spent in Ipswlch. His occupa-, tlon was chiefly that of a printer in the employ of his uncle, Mr. W. H. Bemi and for a time he was Secretary of the Ipswich Branch of the Printers' Union. At the age of 19 he went to the front with the 15th Batallion, and saw a little over two years of active service, when he was invalided home. He then went to Stanthorpe on ac-count of ill health. Later he went to Corlnda, where his death took place. He is survived by a widow, one little child, three brothers and two sisters. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. H. Bemi, of Tiger-street, West Ipswich. The funeral took place to the Ipswich cemetery yesterday morning, when Rev. A. St J. Heard conducted the burlal service..

Private Edward Lawrence Bemi.
Born and educated at Ipswich, Edward was the son of Harry J. L. Bemi and Ada Bemi, of Tiger Street, West Ipswich. Enlisted 20th May, and sailed 21st October, 1916, for England, and went into camp at Codford, Salisbury Plain. Sent to France about end of February, and returned to England on 30th September, 1917, with fever, and went into hospital at Birmingham. After recovery, was sent back to Australia as unfit for further military service, and arrived in Australia 29th March, 1918.
