James was the son of James Bell and Catherine Wilkins nee Bell.
Dr Bell, was a returned soldier of both the First and Second A.I.F. With each, he saw service overseas and held the rank of Major.
Brought to the notice of Secretary of State for War Office for valuable services rendered in connection with the War. 28.8.1919
In 1920 James married Staff Nurse Elva Jessie Cave.
Dr Bell passed away following an operation.
He was survived by his wife and daughter.
