Biography contributed by Geoffrey Gillon

His attestation papers, and some other official documents, indicate he was born in Croydon, South Australia, but information provided to CWGC by his Next of Kin state that he was born in Chertsey, Surrey, UK. He was the son of William Thomas Woods and Sarah Woods (nee Sherman); husband of Ida Australia Woods (nee Gilbert) married in 1907.
