Add my storyBiography contributed by Geoffrey Gillon
His attestation papers, and some other official documents, indicate he was born in Croydon, South Australia, but information provided to CWGC by his Next of Kin state that he was born in Chertsey, Surrey, UK. He was the son of William Thomas Woods and Sarah Woods (nee Sherman); husband of Ida Australia Woods (nee Gilbert) married in 1907. She appears to have been born Cook and had previously been married becoming Mrs Gilbert. Father of Watson Thomas and Irene Louisa. Irene Louisa appears to have been a child Ida Australia Gilbert.
