"Major H. J. Tiddy.
The death occurred last evening of Major H. J. Tiddy at Ardoyne Hospital, where he had been an inmate for the past six weeks. The deceased, who was 51 years of age, served in the South African war, and on September 24, 1914, he left for the Great War with the Second Light Horse. Major Tiddy served with distinction at Gallipoli, where he was wounded and invalided home. Since then he has been associated with the military forces in Queensland, and up to November of last year was honorary aide camp to his Excellency Lieut.-General Sir John Goodwin. The late Major Tiddy is survived by his wife and two daughters. The funeral will leave from the funeral parlour of Cannon and Cripps, Adelaide-street, at 3.45 this afternoon, to the Toowong Cemetery." - from the Brisbane Courier 10 Dec 1931 (nla.gov.au)
