Charles Matthew WOLSTENHOLME was born in Everton, Victoria in 1870

His parents were Matthew James WOLSTENHOLME and Mary Jane DAVENPORT

He married Ada Jane FERRIS in NSW in 1919

He served for 2 years under two different service numbers  SN762 and SN273 in the Boer War with the 2nd NSW Mounted Rifles and the 3rd NSW Imperial Bushmen & later enlisted to serve in WW1 on 24th August, 1915 and embarked with the 53rd Infantry Battalion -5th reinforcementson on the 14th September, 1916 from Sydney on the HMAT Mashobra

Charles returned to Australia after WW1 on 1st November, 1917 and arrived on the ship Anchises on 3rd January, 1918 - he was discharged on 14th February, 1918

He died on 28th March, 1933, late of Fairfield - his funeral left his residence of "Ruthven" Richardson St Fairfield & proceeded to the Church of England section of the New Cemetery in Liverpool, NSW

His brother Albert Edwin served in the Boer War (SN 220) and WW1 (SN 6644 and SN 222) and died of Illness on 24th February, 1917

Another brother Walter Frederick (SN 1648) also served in the Boer War
