Mr. Joseph Milthorp Chisholm, an ex-resident of Penrith, died at the Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick on Monday, at the age of 37 years. Mrs. Milthorp, grandmother of the deceased, was the licensee of the Commercial Hotel Penrith, some years ago. At that time deceased's father was managing the hotel, and deceased was residing there. He served with the A.I.F., being attached to the 1st Battalion.
The funeral took place on Tuesdya, the internment being in the C of E cemetery, Rookwood. The coffin was draped in the Union Jack. among the mourners were several of deceased's Army mates. The chief mourners were; Messrs. J. Chisholm (brother), H Fekes (brother-in-law), Arthur Chisholm (Cousin), and C.H. Fulton (cousin, Penrith). The Masonic service was read by Wor. Bro. McNeill.
