Lancaster Charles WETTENHALL was born in 1892 in Balterley, Crewe, Cheshire, England.

His parents were Lancaster Charles WETTENHALL and Olive BAKER.

He enlisted on 4th December 1915 with the Australian Army - he was with the 41st Battalion, C Company - Unit embarked from Sydney on 18th May, 1916.

Lancaster was Killed in Action on 10th October, 1917 in the Field in Belgium - no known grave - he is honoured on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial and the Australian War Memorial

He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal

His brother Reginald WETTENHALL also served in the 15th Battalion and returned to Australia in 1919
