Son of William Ough and Helen Bell Ough nee Burns of Steele Street, Moonee Ponds, Victoria.

Brother of Arthur Ough who returned to Australia on 30  January 1919 having served with the 46th Battalion; David Ough who returned to Australia on 15 May 1919 having served with the 2nd Field Company Engineers.

Commenced return to Australia on 19 Ocotber 1918 aboard HT Sardinia disembarking on 27 December 1918 at Melbourne for discharge
