Patrick Charles Slattery was the eldest of 2 sons of Patrick Slattery and and Anna Maria Ross of Maryborough QLD. Patrick was a Wardsman in Maryborough, QLD when he enlisted in Brisbane QLD on 24 January 1916 in the AIF (Private, Service No: 4649) with 12th Reinforcements 31st Battalion. He suffered Shell Shock in France and was designated as 'Casualty' on 22 November 1917.
In 1921 Patrick married Dorothy May Burgess in Maryborough, QLD and was working as a Pit Head Man in Howard, Wide Bay in QLD. Patrick remained in Wide Bay, working as a Labourer until his death in 1951
