Percy Thompson Fricker

Percy Thompson Fricker was born in Maryborough, Victoria 1896 and was the son of William Henry Fricker and Emma Marie Nee Krausgrill.  He was a butcher before he enlisted for the First World War, on April 12 1915.

Percy was 19 years old when he signed up for the First World War and was put into the 22nd Australian Infantry Battalion. His service number was 1223 and his rank was Lance Corporal. He was moved to Melbourne for his embarkation on May 10 1915, on the ship HMAT Ulysses A38, and he served in Gallipoli.

Percy died of pneumonia on November 16 1915, in Malta. He is buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery, Tal-Pieta, Malta with two other British servicemen.
