Died on this date – 16th July .... Private Arthur John Taylor was born at Port Adelaide, South Australia in 1879. He married Hannah Morris on 14th November, 1903 at Adelaide, South Australia & they had 4 children between 1907 & 1912.

Arthur John Taylor enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 22nd September, 1915 as a 36 year old, married, Butcher from Stirling West, South Australia.

Private Arthur John Taylor embarked from Adelaide, South Australia on HMAT Miltiades (A28) on 7th February, 1916 with the 10th Infantry Battalion, 14th Reinforcements & disembarked at Suez on 11th March, 1916. He was transferred to England for further training but there are no details as to how or when his Service Record file.

Private Taylor was sent sick to Hospital on 9th June, 1916 from 3rd Training Battalion. He was reported to have suspected Tuberculosis & was reported to be seriously ill on 12th July, 1916. Private Taylor was reported as dangerously ill with Tuberculosis on 15th July, 1916.

Private Arthur John Taylor died on 16th July, 1916 at 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield Park, Harefield, Middlesex, England from Tuberculosis (secondary cardiac failure).

He was buried in St. Mary the Virgin Churchyard, Harefield, Middlesex, England where 112 other WW1 Australian War Graves are located.
