John Dean, known as Jack, and his son Edmund Dean enlisted in WW1. His Grandson John Buckland Dean was taken Prisoner of War in 1942 during WW2 and died of illness in 1943. Jack emigrated from Bolton Lancashire and resided in Midland Junction, WA.
John's brother William Henry "Harry", also emigated and settled in Midland Junction and had two sons killed in action in WW1. Jack Dean, 32nd Battalion, killed in action at Fromelles and Charles Entwistle, 28th Battation, Died of Wounds, 12 Dec 1917. A third son Harry Stanley Dean also enlisted and served with the 44th Battalion.
