John McKinnon
John McKinnon was my great uncle, Born in Scotland in 1886.He had two sisters Christina & Ella. Christina being my grandmother. He came to Australia as a sailor.
Enlisted in the Australian Army on 10th January 1916 in Sydney NSW @ the age of 30 yrs. He was not the very young soldiers of 17 & 19 you hear about so I think it was probably physically tougher for him. I have conflicting information on when he returned to Australia but I think he returned on 24th December 1918. I so far cannot find any information what happened to him or where he went after he returned to Australia.
