He was 30 and the son of Sarah Stirling, of Rose St., Eagle Junction, Brisbane, Queensland, and the late John Stirling.
His forbears came from the Scottish Borders so he is remembered on the book of remembrance for Tweeddale. [Roll of honour of Peebleshire men killed in the Great War, 1914-1918. With portraits.]
