Patrick was born in 1887 in Tomki in the Richmond Valley in Northern NSW. In 1912 he married May Barker (born 1884 in Yorkshire, England) in Helidon on the Darling Downs in QLD. The couple moved to Sandgate near Brisbane in QLD with their daughter, and Patrick was a Labourer when he enlisted in the AIF in 1916. He served as a Private (Service No: 1730) initially with the 41st Battalion B Coy and from 1916 with the 49th Battalion C Coy> Patrick was twice WIA in France - in 1917 and 1918, and was Discharged in December 1918.
His Brothers - in - law Robert Woodall Barker (Service No: 814), Sydney Thompson Barker (Service No: 804) and Francis Gibson Barker (Service No: 1003) also served in WWI
Patrick and Mary started farming at Wellington Point in Cleveland near Brisbane, QLD in 1919, and moved back to Dandgate, QLD where Patrick was a Labourer and a Car Washer. May died in 1966, and Patrick in 1974
