Grandfather
After the war:
Allan was a wonderful violinist and a tenor in the church choir in St Barnabus Church on Rochkamption.
He married Mirium James who was singing and playing the piano in the same choir. They had 2 sons, one who died at birth and my father Colin Allan White.
He named my father Colin after an indigenous mate he fought with.
Early life:
He was born in the bay of Auckland New Zealand on a ship in which his parents where migrating from Scotland to New Zealand and then to Australia.
During the War;
He was gased in France and shot in Gallipoli.
He died at 77 years at home in Rokchampton with some bullets still from Gallipoli still in his chest.
He was a postal worker before the conflict and resumed his same post when he returned from the conflict.
He was so injured, he did not come home until 2 years after the war.
