Private Clement Leo Bede Moroney (Service No:3077) enlisted in the AIF on 3 April 1916, and was attached to 34th Infantry Battalion on 24 January 1917 when he embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A68 Anchises. Private Moroney served on the Western Front, embarking from England for Sydney on 10 January 1918 on board HMAT Corinthic, and was attached to 34th Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 6 April 1918. In WWII, Private Moroney (Service No:N333967) served in the ACMF with 10th (NSW) Battalion VDC from 1 April 1942 to 21 March 1943. Older brother Dick also served in WWI, and sons Clem and Frank (KiA) served in WWII.

Born in Sydney, New South Wales in 1889, Clement was fourth of seven children of Richard Joseph Moroney (b1856 at Raymond Terrace, New South Wales) and Mary J McFettridge (b1860 in Grafton, New South Wales). Richard and Mary married in 1884 in Sydney, where they settled and raised their family and Richard was a Bricklayer and Mary a Midwife.

Clement worked as a Bricklayer in Sydney, where in 1911 he married Agnes Bishop Crum (b1889 in Glebe, Sydney, New South Wales). Clement and Agnes settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and Clement worked as a Bricklayer and Tram Conductor. Clement died in 1959 and Agnes in 1971.
