The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 52 & 272. Prior to the war he was a farmer of Pambula NSW. He enlisted 9th Jan 1916 aged 21 years. He served with the 55th Infantry Battalion, and during this service he was awarded the Croix de Guere (Belgium) for activities that he did. He survived the war, departing the UK for home 2nd June 1919
