Son of John Richard ABEY and Charlotte nee WRIGHT
Awarded the Military Cross in the field by King George V on 01 January 1918. He lated refused to exchange it for the offical medal engraved with his name and unit because of the sentimental vaule attached to the one he received directly from the King.
On his return to Australia he was manage at the bank at Longford before being promoted as Bank Inspector in Western Australia. He retired to Dalkeith WA where he died in 1971
