My great uncle
Francis Leslie Smith was my great uncle, as a little girl his photo was in my grandparents house, I always knew that he was my grandfather’s brother who had died in the war but it was only as an adult that I began researching his story, Francis came from a country area in New South Wales in Australia called the Abercrombie he was the 5 th child of 11 children my grandfather Charles was the 2nd youngest, My only uncle was named Leslie after him , I am so pleased that he is buried in such a beautiful cemetery and I hope one day to visit his grave. From his great niece Debbie O’Neill née Warn
