Son of Francis Henry Vincent and Ellen Louisa Helena  Vincent nee O'Grady of Sterling Street, Fremantle, WA. Brother of Frederick William Vincent who returned to Australia on 7 March 1918 having served with the 18th Battalion.

Husband of Elizabeth Vincent nee Stewart of Charles Street, Perth, WA. Walter and Elizabeth married in Claremont, Perth, WA during 1897c. Father of Charlotte Emily Vincent, Vera Vincent
