"DEEP PEACE OF THE QUIET EARTH SO FAR FROM THE LAND THAT GAVE YOU BIRTH"
Originally listed as 'No known grave' and recorded on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux. Grave discovered in 1994.
WHITE.—Killed in action, in France, on the 2nd May, Sergeant John James White, loving husband of Lillian, and loving daddy of Colin and Myrle, aged 29 years.
One of the best.
Dead, did you say? Nay, only Heaven sped;
Just safe in God's home port, he is not dead,
Lost, did you think? How can such lives be lost?
Just gathered up, His jewels rare of cost.
Gone? Nay, just waiting on God's wide shoreline
The coming of life vessels.—yours and mine.
