SAFFIN Frederick joined the army in 1915 and served for Australia. He enlisted in South Australia but was born in Devonshire, England. Before joining the army Frederick worked as an engine driver. Frederick was not married at the time when he joined the war meaning his next of kin was his father, William Saffin. He embarked from Australia in March 1916 and spent some time sick in 1916. He served on the Western Front with the 3rd Field Company Engineers. He returned to Australia in 1919.
