Mr. Frederick Matthew Wharton, of Runnymede, Maxwelton, North Queensland, a member of one of the best-known pastoral families In North Queensland, died suddenly in the Richmond (Qld.) Hospital on December 23, aged 42 years. He was the son of the late W. T. Wharton and Mrs. Wharton, of Birralee, Bowen, was educated at The King's School, Parramatta, and served for four years with the A.I.F. He had extensive pastoral interests In northern and western Queensland. He is survived by Mrs. Wharton, who is the daughter of Dr. S. Brown, of Parramatta, and by three children. The interment took place at Townsville.
