REV. CHARLES HAMILTON SHEDDEN died suddenly at his residence at Evandale, at the age of 71 years. The late Rev. Shedden was educated at Moore College, Sydney, and was appointed rector of Sofala (N.S.Wales) in 1880, being transferred to Bourke in 1890, and Carcoar in 1898.
He was rural dean in the Western District Diocese of Bathurst in 1895, canon of All Saints' Cathedral, Bathurst, in 1896, vicar at Kingston (Tasmania) 1901-3, rector of Forth and Lovon 1903-10, and rector of Evandale 1910-27. He was awarded the V.D. in the Commonwealth Military Forces in 1927, and was chaplain of the 12th Battalian, A.I.F., 1915. At the interment in the Carr Villa cemetery on Sunday afternoon there was a large gathering of mourners, Archdeacon Atkinson conducting the service at the graveside.
